Porter's French Wash, Dural

Sky Painting & Decorating restored a home library ceiling in Dural and finished it with hand-applied Porter’s French Wash. The work included protecting surrounding surfaces, preparing and restoring the ceiling, then applying the decorative finish.

The gallery shows the ceiling before restoration, the prepared details, application in progress and the completed effect. The finished ceiling has broken colour and visible movement, bringing a decorative feature to the library rather than a uniform white finish.

For a similar ceiling or wall, the existing surface, height, access and details all affect preparation and pricing. The photographs are a reference for discussing colour variation and workmanship; the appearance of hand-applied French Wash also depends on the room’s light and the agreed colour system.
