Federation and Victorian homes carry detail that modern homes don't: timber fretwork, VJ boards, sash windows, decorative render and cast-iron lacework. We work carefully around these features rather than painting over them, so the period character stays intact.

Where a property is heritage-listed or in a conservation area, colour schemes and coating types can be subject to council or heritage guidelines.

We work within those requirements and can advise on appropriate colour palettes for the period.

Our Oatlands commercial interior repaint involved existing walls affected by accumulated dust, dirt and soot, alongside newly installed plasterboard ceiling sections. We brushed and dusted walls, vacuumed many surfaces and swept and vacuumed floors to reduce loose dust before finishing. Mould-affected bathroom and toilet areas were treated and cleaned before Zinsser primer; new plasterboard and patched areas received water-based primer. The project records why each surface needed its own preparation.

At our Lilyfield heritage home project, damaged rendered wall sections were patched with White Set, sanded and treated with Dulux Sealer Binder.

Mould-affected ceiling and wall areas were treated and sealed before two finish coats on ceilings and walls. Timber damage was repaired, sanded and undercoated before two or three coats of Dulux Aquanamel. The before-and-after gallery shows the old decorative ceiling and the repainted walls and woodwork.
