Preparation included repairing rendered walls after adhesive protection strips were removed, treating water-stained ceiling areas with Zinsser primer, preparing old oil-based timberwork and priming a new plasterboard partition. Wall finishes included Dulux Wash&Wear, with Dulux Aquanamel on prepared timberwork.

The Chatswood lift-door repaint needed a different preparation sequence because the existing doors were powder-coated. We cleaned them with Sugar Soap, lightly sanded, cleaned again and removed the dust before applying Zinsser B-I-N and three finish coats of Dulux Weathershield. These are the products and steps recorded for that project; we assess the existing finish before specifying a system for another property.
